January

Health Camp at Shyam Vihar (15-01-2011)

A Camp was organised on 15th january 2011 at Shiv Mandir, Shyam Vihar (Kakrola area) near Dwarka Sector-14, New Delhi from 11pm to 3pm. Dr. Rajiv from E.S.I. Hospital and Dr. Abhilash from Sunrise Hospital, Gurgaon screened 125 OPDs and medicines were also given to those patients free of cost. Mr. Nawab Singh, Mr. Rajinder Chokker and Mr. Ashwani Ranga helped to make it successful.

Health Camp at Tara Nagar (22-01-2011)

A Camp was organised on 22nd january 2011 in association with Jimedar Nagrik Trust at Bharat Jodo Complex, 109 Tara Nagar (Near Kakrola Dairy), New Delhi from 11 pm to 3pm. For vide publicity, Bharat Jodo used their vehicles with mike on it. Mr. Satnam Singh of Bharat Jodo helped to make it a success. Dr. Jitendra from E.S.I. Hospital and Dr.Abhilash from Sunrise Hospital conducted 244 OPD & medicines were given to all patients.

Drawing Competition held at Mayur Vihar (23-01-2011)

A drawing competion was organized for different age groups (i.e. 5-7 years, 8-10 years and 11-12 years) at Shree Ram Vatika Park, Mayur Vihar-2, Delhi with the help of Resident Welfare Society (Regd) from 10 am to 1 pm. 89 children from different age groups participated. Different topic was given to all the participants. The imagination and thinking of children towards their subject came out by this event.

Later the prizes were distributed by area MLA (& President DPYC) Ch. Anil Kumar & Councilor Mr. Devendar Kumar to the best two of each group. On 26 Jan, on the occasion of Republic Day function, Mr. Anil Grover (President of Resident Welfare Society) thanked SVCT for this event. Mementos were also given to the event coordinator, Mrs. Manju Badoni & Mrs. Manju Chugani. The area MLA and the Councilor were also honored by SVCT.

Breast Cancer Camp at Janakpuri (24-01-2011)

A Camp was organised on 24th January 2011 at Gita Mandir Complex, C-2 Block, Janakpuri, New Delhi from 10 am to 3 pm. With the help of ROKO Cancer Charitable Trust, 46 ladies benefitted from this camp. All were given useful information regarding the cause , symptoms and effects of the breast cancer. 27 Mammography were conducted. Mr. S.K. Singhal , member of the General Society of Geeta Mandir Trust thanked SVCT for this noble cause.

Health Camp at Ranaji Enclave (29-01-2011)

A general health check up camp was organised on 29th January 2011 at Shiv Mandir, Ranaji Enclave, Najafgarh Road, New Delhi from 11 am to 3 p.m. With the great support of Mr. Bhola Nath and Mrs. Suman Taneja, 220 O.P.D's were screened. Efforts of SVCT were appreciated by everyone.

Heart Check up Camp at Janakpuri (30-01-2011)

A free heart check up camp was organised on 30 January 2011 at Shree Sanatan Dharam Mandir Sabha D-Block, Janakpuri, New Delhi from 11 am to 3 pm. in association with Metro Hospital and Cancer Institute, Preet Vihar, Delhi. A cardiologist with a Dietician screened 89 O.P.D in which 75 E.C.Gs, 75 R.B.S (Sugar Test) were done, and 26 Echo Test were screened. Mr. Deepak Wadhera & Mrs. Sharma (President) appreciated the effort.

Health Camp at Janakpuri (04-02-2011)

A Camp was organised on 1st Feb 2011 and 4th Feb 2011 at MCD Primary School, Janakpuri C-4 Block, New Delhi from 10 am to 1 p.m with the help of Mata Chaudhary Heera Devi CharitableTrust & Geeta Mandir Trust, C-2, Janakpuri, New Delhi. Mr. Prithvi Raj Sahni, Mayor of Delhi inaugurated the camp. 508 O.P.Ds were conducted which included children & school staff and some medicines were also provided to all suspected children. All staff members were happy and thanked SVCT for the event.

Health Camp (05-02-2011)

A health camp was organised on 5th february 2011 at Shiv Mandir, Sangam Vihar Old Kakrola Road, New Delhi from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the help of Dr. U.P. Singh (Roshan Garden). 245 O.P.Ds were conducted. People appreciated the efforts done by SVCT.

Participation in Annual Fest (Tempest) At Miranda House College,
Delhi University (09 -02-11 to 11-02-11)

SVCT took part in the annual fest of Miranda House College from 9th Feb 2011 to 11th Feb 2011. Large number of students who came from different colleges showed their interest to work with SVCT as volunteer or for social internship.

Heart Check up Camp at Allahabad Complex, Janakpuri (16-02-2011)

A heart check up camp was organized with the help of Mr. C.K.Pandy, Chief Manager of Allahabad Bank on 16th February 2011 at Allahabad Bank complex, Janakpuri, New Delhi. 102 O.P.Ds were conducted (45 ECG & 65 random sugar Test). 26 patients were referred for Echo test. This Camp was highly appreciated by Mr.Vipul Singla, Zonal Head & Mr. M.C. Singal (A.G.M) Allahabad Bank, Delhi.

Health Camp at Peera Garhi (19-02-2011)

A health camp was organised with the help of Mr. Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project For the Dalit Women on 19th February 2011 at Peera Garhi Jhuggi Camp. 220 O.P.Ds were conducted by Dr. Naveen of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Dr.Abhilash of Sunrise Hospital, Gurgaon. The camp was successfully completed and people appreciated the efforts done by SVCT in this camp.

Non-Formal Education Camp at Peera Garhi (23-02-2011)

A camp was organised on 23rd february 2011 at PeeraGarhi Jhuggi Camp (The Slum Basti). Here street children meeting was organised for Non-Formal Education in PeeraGarhi (Slum Basti). 30 students participated in this camp. It was a successful attempt by SVCT. Thanks to Mr. Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project for Dalit Women for organizing this event.

A Health Camp at Tilak Vihar (26-02-2011)

health camp was organized in association with the Backward Patron Society on 26th February 2011 at Tilak Vihar, New Delhi. 120 O.P.Ds were conducted. SVCT volunteers also worked and helped in make the event successful. All the people appreciated the efforts of SVCT to organize this camp. Mr. S. Samuals President of Backward Patron Society thanked SVCT for this noble cause.

Participation in Annual Fest at J.P. Business School, Noida (01-03-2011)

SVCT participated in the annual fest of J.P. Bussiness School, Noida on 1st March 2011. Mr. Gaurav Passy represented SVCT at the fest. He arranged 11 Volunteers of M.B.A from Jaypee Business School, Noida for managing the SVCT stall. An approximate of 5000 students visited that stall. Many students showed their interest to work with SVCT as a volunteer or for social internship. 8 students came from J.P. Business School for their Social Internship Program.

Non-Formal Education Camp and Breast Cancer Awareness Camp (04.03.2011)

Under social internship programme of Lady Irwin Collage of Delhi University, 5 students came for the same. A social work programme was organized with the help of Mr. Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project for Dalit Women at Peera Garhi Jhuggi Complex on 4 March 2011 at 2.00pm, where 5 students of Lady Irwin College came and met jhuggi cluster children. They talked on good behavior, cleanliness and personal hygiene and tried to play motivational games, which can be helpful for the mental development of child.

Later a meeting was also organized for ladies, about 20 ladies participated and messages regarding cleanliness, hygiene and Breast Cancer were given to them and also how to detect the cancer on their own by Breast Self Examination.

Health Camp at Shiv Vihar (05.03.2011)

A general health check up camp was organized with the help of Ideal Radian Public School. Dr. Jitendra of ESI Hospital and Dr. Abhilash of Sunrise Hospital, Gurgaon, screened 319 OPD and provided essential medicines to the patients. Mr. ChandarKant , Director Ideal Radian Public School thanked SVCT for this Camp.

Health Check up Camp at Mahadev Chowk, Rohini (12.03.2011)

A general health camp was organized with the help of Mr. Bablu Verma of Radhika Jewellers, Avantika, Sec-1, Rohini, New Delhi at Mahadev Chowk, from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. Two doctors screened 197 OPD and medicines were also provided to the patients. This was the first ever camp organized in their area, so residents requested to hold such camps in the future also. Two volunteers came from Ramjas College (Delhi University) for social work and made people aware of : NO Smoking" by holding a small anti tobacco exhibition.

Health Check up Camp at Om Vihar (18.03.2011)

A general health camp was organized with the help of Backward Patron Society & Aman National Organisation at Om Vihar, Phase 5, near Madina Masjid, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. Two doctors screened 130 OPD patients and provided medicines to all. Volunteers from Backward Patron society and 5 students (lead by Ms. Rachna) of Lady Irwin college (DU) helped in smooth running of the camp. Our special thanks go to Mr. Sami Ahmed Rizvi to make the camp a success.

Breast Cancer Awareness Camp at Janakpuri Church (26.03.2011)

A Breast Cancer (Awareness & Detection) Camp was organized at Janakpuri Church (Associate Bishop Commissary, Evangelical Church of India). In the Camp, two separate portions were made, in one a small & informatics exhibition was displayed for people to know about the bad effects of tobacco & how cancer enters into human beings. In the other compartment, a small session was arranged in which Power Point Slide was shown for Self Breast Examination. Patients felt very happy by the arrangement done by SVCT. Mrs. Anthoni, wife of Hon'ble Defence Minister visited the camp and she was very much impressed by the activities done by SVCT. Volunteers who came also helped in making the camp successful. 49 OPD cases were screened and 17 X-Ray Mammography tests were done. The trustees of SVCT were also present at that time. The camp was appreciated aby all people present over there.

Heart, Cancer & Respiratory Camp (27.03.2011)

A Camp on Heart, Cancer & Respiratory was organized in association with Metro Heart & Cancer Institute at Gate No.2, Pocket C, Mayur Vihar Phase -2, Delhi, with the help of Resident Welfare Society. Large number of patients from different areas came to the camp. Mr. Anil Kumar Choudary, MLA (& President DPYC) inaugurated the Camp and appreciated the activity. Mr. Davendra Kumar, councilor MCD, also visited and was impressed by the arrangements of the Camp and requested SVCT to hold more camps in the area. On our special request Mr. Niloy Mitra chief coordinator, Metro Hospital sent a special team (ECG, Echo, PFT and PFM) for the Camp. Total OPD conducted were 202 (Heart-150, Cancer-60, and Respiratory-55). The following tests were done RBS-160, ECG-110, PFT (Pulmonary function test)-38, PFM (Peak flow Meter)-30 and ECHO -45. Thanks to Mr. S.K. Choudary, Mr. Vijay Sharma, Mr. K.P. Varghees and Mr. V. Kukreja of RWS, who helped in smooth running of the camp. Mr. Anil Grover, President, on behalf of RWS thanked SVCT for holding the Camp. Mr.Gaurav and his team (4) (Jaypee Business School, Noida) worked as social Volunteer.

Health Camp at Janakpuri (01-04-2011)

Educational Material Distribution Session (09.04.2011)

A small function was organized in SVCT office at Janakpuri, on 9th April 2011 from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm. About 90 children who belonged to Tihar inmates along with their family attended the Camp. Mrs.Shakti Rani Sharma, trustee distributed School Bags, Note –Books & stationery items ( like Pencil, rubber & Foot rule) etc to all these children. Apart from these course study books, School dresses (included School Shoes, socks, tie , belt ) were also provided to all convicts children, whom SVCT had adopted. School Fees is also paid by SVCT. SVCT also arranged for short classes in good behavior and hygiene for them. Students of Lady Irwin Collage (Delhi University) played a useful role in the function. Separate non formal class on Breast Cancer, awareness program was also arranged on this occasion. Dr. (Mrs.) Vandana Mehta gave some useful tips for better health (awareness). Mrs. Shakti Rani assured children that SVCT will help to complete their education.

Educational material distribution in JNJ (slum area) colony (21.04.2011)

An educational program was launched by SVCT, in which we oriented small slum children on the benefits of education in modern era and how they should get best out of it. So we, SVCT distributed notebooks and other useful stationary items to around 35 school going children, who were living in Jhuggis situated near Tihar jail.

General Health Check up Camp in J.J. Colony, Uttam Nagar (23.04.2011)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Mr. S. Sammuel of Backward Patron Society (Regd) at Baba Ramdev Mandir complex, B-Block, J.J.Colony, Uttam Nagar, (Hastsal Road) New Delhi on 23.04.11, from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Two doctors (Dr. Naveen Tyagi and Dr. Abhilash) screened 206 OPD and medicines were also provided to patients. This was the first ever organized camp in their area by any NGO. Mr. Atul and some volunteers who came from Backward Patron Society (Regd) worked & helped patients by showing them anti tobacco exhibition.

General Health Check up Camp at Peera-Garhi (30.04.2011)

A General Health Camp was organized with the help of Mr.Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project for the Dalit Women at Jhuggi Camp, (Railway side) Peeragarhi, New Delhi on 30.04.2011, from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. The Doctors who offered their services were Dr.Naveen Tyagi and Dr.Abhilash and they screened 120 OPDs. Free medicines were also provided to patients. Mr.S. Samuel along with his team members was also present there to help the patients. Patients were less in number in the camp due to the fire in one of shoe factory nearby the camp site.

General Health Check up Camp at Vikaspuri (07.05. 2011)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Mr.S. Samuel of Backward Patron Society (Regd) and Jhuggi Jhopri Ekta Sudhar Samiti, at Indira Camp No. 2, J Block, Vikas Puri, New Delhi on 23.04.11, from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Two doctors (Dr. Naveen Tyagi & Dr. Abhilash ) screened 206 OPD and medicines were also given to patients. Mrs. Amarjeet Kaur, Lalit and Arvind worked in the camp as social workers. Jhuggi Pradhan appreciated the activity done by SVCT. Mr. Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project for the Dalit Women was helping the patients who came for treatment.

Multi Specialized Health Camp at Vikaspuri (14.05.11)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Mr.S. Samuel of Backward Patron Society (Regd) for jhuggi Jhopri , Indira Camp No. 3 & 5, at Dushera Ground, D & F Block, Vikas Puri, New Delhi on 14 May from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Apart from Allopathic treatment, SVCT introduced Ayurvedic, Naturopathic, Homeopathic, Magnetotheropy, Acupuncture & Acupressure system. The following doctors screened 150 OPD:-

Local Pradhan appreciated the activity done by SVCT. Mr. Gurneet Bhandari of Self Help Project for the Dalit Women was helping the patients who came for treatment.

Medical Health Check up Camp in Rohini (21.05.11)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Mr. Hem Raj Garg of Navyuvak Sangarsh Welfare Association, at Garg Properties, C Block Vijaty Vihar, Sector - 4, Rohini, Delhi on 21 May 2011, from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Two doctors (Dr. Naveen Tyagi and Dr. Abhilash) screened 201 OPD and medicines were also given to the patients. Three interns (for internship trainees) came from different parts of the country and helped in the smooth running of the camp. A small Anti-Tobacco exhibition was displayed. Everyone was expecting that people may not turn up due to bad weather condition, but large number of people turned up. Everyone appreciated the good effort done by SVCT.

Medical Health Check up Camp near Alipur(28.05.11)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Prithvi Singh Tyagi Memorial Trust, on 28 May 2011 at Village Holambi Kalan, Near Alipur, from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Two doctors (Dr. Naveen Tyagi and Dr.Abhilash ) screened 180 OPD and medicines were also given to the patients. Two interns Tapasya & Mr.Satish (for internship trainees) came from Gwalior & Noida respectively and helped in the smooth running of the camp.

Internship training at SVCT office (30.05.2011)

12 students came from different part of country for their social summer training on 30th of May 2011. Students were presented summer internship letter, and they also provided a kit. All were welcomed by Ms. SHAKTI RANI and Mr. KARTIKAY SHARMA,
SVCT trustees.

Survey of inmates' house in Rohini (1.06.2011)

A household survey was done on 1st of June near sector-20, Rohini. Apart from the field organizer, four trainees (Prateek, Rachel, Lalit and Sunil Gupta) were the part of the survey conducted. Trainees have gained knowledge about how survey should be conducted under the human touch programme of SVCT.

Medical Health Check up Camp at Ramphal Chowk, Dwarka (04.06.11)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Backward Patron Society & National Backward Christian Trust on 4th June 2011 at Palam Extension (near Ramphal Chowk) from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Two doctors Dr.Naveen Tyagi and Dr.Abhilash) screened 107 OPD and medicines were also given to patients. Six interns Tapasya, Satish, Sunil, Rachel, Lalit and Syed Umair (for internship trainees) came from different parts of India and helped in smooth running of Camp. A small Anti-Tobacco exhibition was displayed. The trainees have a keen interest in promoting the cause and they have done a good job in convincing people to stop consuming tobacco. People appreciated the good effort done by SVCT and are expecting more such camps in their area.

Medical Health Camp at Mongolpuri (11.06.11)

A general health Camp was organized by SVCT in collaboration with Shyam Pushtak Bhandar on 11th June at Shiv Mandir D Block, Sanjay Market Mangolpuri, New Delhi- 83. The Camp was conducted from 10 a.m. to 2:30 pm. There were eight interns volunteering in the Camp. There were three doctors who were treating the patients – Dr. Naveen Tyagi (surgeon), Dr. Abhilash (physician) and Dr. Simran Sawhney(dentist). 284 patients visited the health Camp and were given proper guidance and medicines. Two patients were found suffering from oral cancer and they were referred to nearest government hospital for further treatment. All the interns were making the public aware of various types of cancer, its causes and the preventive methods. Mrs. Shakti Rani Sharma, trustee SVCT, was also present over there. She appreciated the efforts done by the team members and was very happy to see the success of our Camp. The Camp was successfully completed and people appreciated the efforts done by SVCT in executing the Camp.

Multi Specialized Health Camp at Begampuri (18.06.11)

SVCT organized a general health Camp in association with Bhartiya Ekta Vikas Manch on 18th June 2011 at Municipal Corporation Primary School, Begampuri. The Camp was scheduled from 10:00am to 2:00am but people continued to come till 2:30. There were 11 volunteers who participated in this Camp. There were 177 patients who were diagnosed by the following doctors:

  • Dr. Simran Sawhney - Dentist
  • Dr. Manju Aggarwal: Naturopathy & Reflexology
  • Dr. M.C. Verma: Ayurveda
  • Dr. Om Pal: Magnetotheropathy
  • Dr. Vikas Sharma: Naturopathy & Yoga

The volunteers were making the people aware about different types of cancers, their causes and ways to prevent them by personally interacting with them. Everybody was delighted to see the success of the Camp and is expecting more of such Camps to be organized in future.

Famous comedy celebrities Md. Ali Hasan and Irfan Malik visited SVCT office (22.06.11)

Md. Ali Hasan and Irfan Malik, the great comedy actors visited SVCT office on 22th June 2011. They were very happy to see the involvement of SVCT team in various programs. They spend some quality time with us and motivated us to achieve new heights in the near future.

A Visit to the Tihar Jail (22.06.2011)

Under the human touch programme, SVCT provides financial aid to the families of the convicts of tihar jail. For this purpose, there is a need to interact with the convicts.

On 22nd June 2011, 3 volunteers along with the administrator Mr. A.K.Passy went to visit the tihar jail to meet convicts. They were invited to the office of Mr. Charan Singh, welfare officer, Tihar Jail-5. Mr. Singh explained them how the jail system works and shared its various rules and regulations. After that, Lalit (S/o Ram Singh), an inmate was called upon. He was asked about his requirements and problems. He was happy to know that SVCT is duly taking care of his family requirements which included school fees for his children and few more stationery items. The volunteers also met the superintendent Mr. Rakesh Khanna. It is evident that even the officers of tihar jail are working hard to make the lives of the convicts and their families better. It was really an enriching experience for the SVCT team.

Medical Health Camp at J.J. Colony, Dwarka Sec-3 (25.06.11)

SVCT organized a general health camp in association Mahila Ekta Vikas Manch on 25th June 2011. The venue was F-106, J.J. colony, Matiyala Road, Dwarka Sector-3. The camp was scheduled from 10:30am to 2:00pm. There were 3 doctors who were treating the patients - Dr. Abhilash, Dr. Simran Shawney and Dr. Jitender. In total 222 patients visited this health camp and were given proper guidance and medicines as per their requirements.

11 interns volunteered in the camps that were making the people aware of various types of cancers and their causes. The boys were concentrating on the men telling them about the dangers of tobacco and its role in cancer and convincing them to stop consuming tobacco whereas the girls were making women aware about breast cancer.

Medical Health Camp at East Vinod Nagar (26.06.11)

SVCT organized a special health camp in association with Metro Hospital & Cancer Institute on June 26th, 2011 at Upadhyay public school, East Vinod Nagar, Delhi. The SVCT team along with 8 volunteers served the local people from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. The Camp provided services including: Free Blood Pressure, Weight, ECG, PFT, PFR, and Echo.

The following Doctors served the camp:

  • Dr. Amar (Cancer Speacialist)
  • Dr. Johar (Respiratory)
  • Mr. Virendra (ECG)
  • Mr. Subodh (PFT)

Mr. Asfaque from Metro Hospital organised the camp. We are thankful to Mr. Niroy Mitra, chief coordinator, Metro Hospital & Cancer Institute for their support in executing the camp.

The volunteers ensured that every individual is attended and made aware about cancer and other heart diseases. 110 people utilized the camp. The camp was an over-all success in serving people and hopes to do the same in future.

Health Camp at Dwarka Sec- 3 (02.07.2011)

SVCT organised general health camp in association with Dhan Lakshmi Samajik Seva Sanstha on 2nd July 2011 at Dwarka Sector-3, Delhi. The SVCT team along with 8 volunteers served the local people from 10:00a.m to 2:00pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular and dental checkups. Dr. Simran Sawhney managed dental care and Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. 225 total patients attended the camp. The camp was an over-all success in serving people and hopes to do the same in future.

Colour of Hope – Art Exhibition (08.07.2011 to 10.07.2011)

Svct has organized a painting exhibition under the name of 'Colours of Hope' on 8th July to 10th July 2011 at Satyagrah hall, Rajghat, Gandhi Darshan in New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Actress & Hon'ble MP. Ms. Jaya Prada in the evening of 8th of July, 2011. Prof Zargar Zahoor, Dean of faculty of fine arts, Jamia Milia Islamia was the Guest of honor. The inauguration was accompanied by a short performance by sarangi Maestro Kamal Sabri. The exhibition remained open for the next two days i.e. 9th and 10th of July from 11am to 7pm. It showcased the work of number of Tihar jail inmates who were trained by the NGO and up-coming artists. Almost all electronic & print media channels and newspapers were present at the first day of the event, 'Colours of Hope' to cover it. High tea was also served after the function. Two Member of Parliament also visited exhibition. Some guests also came from aborad . Some guests like Mrs.Asha Hooda, (wife of Haryana chief minister), Dr. Bhalla, Lily George, etc were present at this event. The total number of paintings sold was 86.

There were many write ups and articles post this exhibition in many newspapers like Times of India, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Jansatta, Statesmen, Pioneer, The Hindu, Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Aaj Samaj etc and channels like Disha, etc even covered this exhibition and broadcasted it later. 'Colours of hope', was thus, a huge success.

Medical Health Camp at Sultan Puri (23.07.2011)

SVCT organised health camp on 23rd July 2011 at Yishu Prarthana Bhavan, E-7/3, Sultan Puri, Delhi-86 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in association with Self Help Project for the Dalit Women. Dr Abhilash and Dr Naveen Tyagi together attended to 252 general OPDs. A team of 12 volunteers helped in organizing the camp and distributing the medicines to the patients. Volunteers also distributed pamphlets to spread awareness about breast cancer. The patients were given primary treatment and medicines free of cost. Those patients who required further assistance were guided appropriately.

Medical Health Camp at Mangol Pur Village (J.J. Colony)
Mangolpuri (30.07.2011)

SVCT organized a general health camp in association Jeevan Data Memorial on 30 july 2011. The venue was RZ-57,Mangolpur, Mangolpuri .The camp was scheduled from 10:00am to 2:00pm. There were 3 doctors who were treating the patients - Dr. Abhilash, Dr. Simran Shawney and Dr. Naveen Tyagi. In total 253 patients visited this health camp and were given proper guidance and medicines as per their requirements. 75 OPD patient came for Dental problems, temporally cavity filled to 25 patients. Thanks to Ms.Sara and her team for support .11 interns volunteered in the camps that were making the people aware of various types of cancers and their causes. The boys were concentrating on the men telling them about the dangers of tobacco and its role in cancer and convincing them to stop consuming tobacco whereas the girls were making women aware about breast cancer.

Visit of Delegate from Spain, Chile and Singapore at SVCT Office (03.08.11)

Under students exchange program, 2 students from Singapore who are studying in Kiroli Mal college and 8 delegates from Spain (working for Save the child) represent some NGO of spain came to SVCT Office. All of them were welcomed by our volunteers traditionally. On behalf of SVCT, Mrs.Shakta Rani Sharma, trustee, welcomed the entire team. School bags, note books and stationery items were also distributed to the inmates families by the International Delegates.

Visit of Spain delegates to Tihar Inmates family Home (04.08.11)

All the eight foreign delegates who came to see the kind of work SVCT is doing. They met families of Tihar inmates who are supported by SVCT. Delegates first visited Dwarka area, where they were welcomed traditionally by Ekta Mahila Mandal. Some school books & stationery items were distributed by the members of delegation. After that, they visited to Swarn Park, Mubarkpur Dabas and Mangolpuri. Overall it was very heart changing scene for all the delegates as they were able to feel the misery which a underprivileged Inmate family goes through.

Health Camp by SVCT at Daabri Vistaar (27.08.11)

A general Health Camp was organized with the help of Kamaljeet Charitable Samiti (Dwarka area) on 27th August 2011 (Nasirpur Road ) from 10 am to 2.00 pm. Three doctors, Dr.Naveen Tyagi, Dr.Abhilash & Dr.Simran Kaur Sawhney screened 135 OPD and medicines were also given to patients. Seven interns helped in smooth running of the Camp. A small Anti-Tobacco exhibition was displayed. The trainees have a keen interest in promoting the cause and they have done a good job in convincing people to stop consuming tobacco.

Medical Camp at Jain Nagar, Karala, Delhi (03.09.2011)

SVCT organised a general health camp in association with Hanuman Dairy on 3rd September 2011 at Monday Bazar Road, Jain Nagar, Karala, Delhi. The SVCT team along with 8 volunteers served the local people from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular and dental checkups. Dr. Simran Sawhney managed dental care and Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. 325 total patients attended the camp. About 25 temporaly filling of Cavity was also done. The camp was an over-all success and local people request SVCT to hold more camp in the area in future.

Medical Camp at Vijay Nagar, Rohini, Delhi (17.09.2011)

SVCT organized a general health camp in association with Navyuvak Sangrash Samiti on 17th Sep 2011 at 40 futa Road,Vijay Vihar Phase-2, Rohini Sec4, New Delhi. Due to rainy season the venue had been changed to J.P.School, nearby area. The Principle of the school and the owner were so helpful and supported us in all possible ways. The SVCT team along with 10 volunteers served the local people from 11:00a.m to 3:00pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular and dental checkups. Dr. (Ms)Simran Kaur Sawhney managed dental care (About 20 temporaly filling of Cavity was also done). Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. First time SVCT introduced Homeopathy treatment, about 60-65 patient who believed in Homeopathy came to take advantage of the same. Medicines were also given to the patients. Dr.(Ms) Lovepreet Kaur offered her services in camps . All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. 179 total patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. Breast Cancer Awareness Camp & Quiz (Kya Aap Jante Hain) 24.09.11

A women health (Breast Cancer) was organised in Dabri Extension on 24th September 2011 in Palam are, in which 50 ladies took part. Dr.Lovepreet Kaur gave very useful tips about seasonal diseases and women general health; she has shown numbers of pictorial charts followed by a short film on computer. Dr.Simran Kaur Sawhney shown short film and PPT presentation on Breast Cancer. In our country Breast Cancer is common disease and it rapidly growing amongst women. She specially insisted to check herself and show various methods available & talked about BSE (Breast Self Examination). Just after training section, a Quiz (Kya Aap Jante Hain ) was also played, some question were asked on health and immunization. Total 25 questions were asked, participants who gave maximum answers were awarded with 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes. All participents who gave 2 or more correct answers, were awarded with consolation prizes.

Health Camp at Mahavir Extension Dwarka (1.10.2011)

SVCT organised general health camp in association with the Rajdhani Associate on 1st Oct 2011 at Mahadev Tower, D-2/69,Gali No.5 Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi. SVCT team along with 9 volunteers served the local people from 10.30a.m to 2.30pm. Dr. Shashank Arora, Dentist offered his service towards camp, he distributed 150 toothpastes with brushes to all the dental patients and provided the local people with free regular and dental checkups. Dr. (Ms)Simran Kaur Sawhney managed dental care (About 30 temporaly filling of Cavity was also done). Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. First time SVCT introduced Physiotherapy, Mr.Yashpal Singh offered his services for the same and he screened about 30 patients.70 OPD Homeopathy treatment were given with medicine by Dr. (Ms) Lovepreet Kaur. Mrs.Radhika offered her service in the field of Reiki & screened 25 patients. All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. 345 total patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. The camp was an over-all success in serving people and hopes to do the same in future. SVCT is thankful to Mr.Brijesh singh and his team for helping in smooth running the camp.

Medical Camp at Vijay Vihar, Rohini Sec-4, Delhi (08.10.2011)

SVCT organized a general health check up camp in association with St. Luke Gospel Church Mission, on 8th October 2011 at Rising Star English Academy, E-190, Vijay Vihar, Phase - 2, Rohini, Delhi. The SVCT team along with 6 volunteers served the local people from 11:00 am to 3:00pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular (General allopathic, homoeopathy and dental checkups. Dr. (Ms) Shilpa (dentist) of   Action Balaji hospital offered her service along with Dr. (Ms) Simran Kaur Sawhney who managed dental care. (About 28 temporary filling of Cavity was also done). Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. About 70-75 patients were screened by Dr. (Ms) Lovepreet Kaur . She managed to screen Gyane case also. All the SVCT volunteers, school staff and volunteers of Church took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. Total 350 patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. The camp was an over-all success in serving the people well and we hope to do the same in future. A big thanks to Mr. Vinod Kumar Giddon and his team for helping in smooth running of the camp.

Health Camp at J.J.Colony, Matiala , Dwarka (16.10.2011)

SVCT organised a general health camp in association with the NavJagrat Mahila Samiti & Backward Patron Society on 16th Oct 2011 at Community Centre, F Block, J.J.Colony, Sec-3, Dwaraka , New Delhi. SVCT team along with 17 volunteers served the local people from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm. Dr. (Ms) Simran Kaur Sawhney managed dental care & screened 60 OPD case patients (about 25 temporally filling of Cavity was also done) & she distributed 80 toothpastes with brushes to all the dental patients and provided the local people with free regular and dental checkups. Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups & took 246 cases. 60 OPD cases were given homeopathy treatment with medicine by Dr. (Ms) Lovepreet Kaur. All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. Total 246 patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. Health Camp at Village Holambi Kalan, Near Alipur(22.10.11)

A general health camp was organized with the help of Prithvi Singh Tyagi Memorial Trust, on 22nd October 2011 at Community Centre, Village Holambi Kalan, near Alipur, from 11 am to 3.00 pm. Two doctors (Dr. Naveen Tyagi and Dr.Abhilash) screened 215 OPD patients and medicines were also given to them. All the volunteers took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. Total 215 patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. SVCT organized a general health check up camp in association with Sympathy Charitable Trust (Regd.), on 5th November 2011 at Johny Public School, Kirari Road, Prem Nagar-2 (near railway station, Nangloi). The SVCT team along with 5 volunteers served the local people from 10.30 am to 3:00 pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular (general allopathic, homoeopathy and dental) checkups. Dr. (Ms) Simran Kaur Sawhney managed dental care (about 25 temporally filling of Cavity was also done). Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Naveen Tyagi did the regular checkups. About 80-85 patients were screened by Dr.(Ms) Lovepreet Kaur . She managed to screen Gyane case also. All the SVCT volunteers, school staff and volunteers of the Trust took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. Total 472 patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. The camp was an over-all success in serving people and we hope to do the same in future. Medical Camp at Mahavir Enclave Part- 3, New   Delhi (12.11.2011)

SVCT organized a general health check up camp in association with Sympathy Charitable Trust (Regd.), on 12th November  2011 at New Chanakaya Public School, Saturday bazaar road, Mahavir Nagar, part-3, New Delhi . The SVCT team along with 6 volunteers served the local people from 10.30 am to 3:00 pm. The camp provided the local people with free regular (general allopathic, homoeopathy and dental) checkups. In the absence of Dr. (Ms) Simran Kaur Sawhney, Dr. Shashank Arora   managed dental care (about 35 temporary filling of Cavity was also done & 95 dental OPD patients were screened). Dr. Abhilash and Dr. Jitender (ESI Hospital) did the regular checkups. About 65-70 patients were screened by Dr. (Ms) Lovepreet Kaur . She managed to screen Gyane case also. All the SVCT volunteers, school staff and volunteers of the Trust took special care of women attending the camp by making them aware about breast cancer. Total 370 patients attended the camp & medicines were given to all the patients. The camp was an over-all success in serving people and we hope to do the same in future. A big thanks to Mr. S. Breast Cancer Awareness Camp at - Hargovind Vihar (12.12.2011)

A Breast Cancer (Awareness & Detection) Camp was organized in association with Bhartia Ekta Vikas Manch, at Chhuna Bhatti Road, Hargobind Vihar, Vijay Vihar-2, near Sec-4, Rohini ,New Delhi. A small & informatics exhibition was displayed for the people to know about the bad effects of tobacco. Patients who came from nearby area felt very happy by the arrangements done by SVCT.Volunteers who came also helped in making the camp successful. 87 OPD cases were screened and 27 X-Ray Mammography tests were done. The camp was appreciated by all people present over there. Thanks to Mr. Ved Dahiya and his team members for smooth running of the camp.

Breast Cancer Camp at Budh Vihar (13.12.2011)

A Breast Cancer (Awareness & Detection) Camp was organised in association with Guru Kripa associates on 13th December 2011 at Mehak Vatika near Sharma office, Budh Vihar, New Delhi from 10 am to 3 pm.  A small & informatics exhibition was displayed for people to know about the bad effects of Tobbaco. 106 ladies were benefitted from this camp. All were given useful information regarding the cause, symptoms and effects of the breast cancer. 32 Mammography tests were also conducted. Mr. Shambhu Dayal Sharma, sitting MCD Councillor had also visited the camp and appreciated the efforts of SVCT. He said that this was the first ever camp organized by anyone in this area.  Thanks to Mr. Bittoo Batra and his team for helping in smooth running of the camp. .

Breast Cancer Awareness Camp at - CRPF, Residential area Sec-16B, Dwaraka   (16.12.2011 & 17.12.11)

A Breast Cancer (Awareness & Detection) Camp was organized in association with Central Reserve Police Force (88 Mahila Bn) at CRPF residential complex, Sec- 16 B, Dwarka, New Delhi. A small & informatics exhibition was displayed for people to know about the bad effects of tobacco. Patients who came from police force and their residential complex felt very happy by the arrangements done by SVCT & CRPF (88 Mahila Bn). Volunteers who came also helped in making the camp successful. Total 215 OPD cases were examined by Dr. Namrita and 57 X-Ray Mammography tests were done. The camp was appreciated by all police officers from CRPF. Mrs. Seema Tolio, Dy. Commandant visited the camp on both days. Dr. Sushma Sharma (CMO, CRPF), Dr. Neena & Dr. Snindha Chetia (SMO DyComdt) helped in smooth running of the camp.  Thanks to Mr. G.J.Singh, DIG Delhi Range and Mrs. Neetu Chakarvorty (Comandant, 88 Mahila Bn) and team members for smooth running of the camp.

Heart Camp (16.12.2011)

A Heart Camp was organized in association with Metro Heart & Cancer Institute at CRPF Residential Complex, Sector 16-B, Dwarka, New Delhi with the help of CRPF 88 Mahila Battalion. Patients came to the camp from different areas. Ms. Seema Tolia (Dy. Comdt.) inaugurated the camp and appreciated the activity. Dr. (Mrs) Sushma Sharma (CMO, CRPF), Dr.Neena & Dr.Snindha Chetia (SMO, DyComdt), also visited the camp and was impressed by its arrangements. They requested SVCT to hold more such camps in future at CRPF Complex. On our special request Mr. Niloy Mitra, chief coordinator, Metro Hospital sent a special team along with ECG machine for the camp. Dr. Anil Mittal, Cardiologist screened 111 OPD patients. Patients who required ECHO were referred to Metro Hospital for further investigation. The following tests were done RBS-96, ECG-78.
